Sea Ray Does Miami in Style
The year's biggest show marks the debut of the new 450 Sundancer. Plus, a futuristic way to experience SLX.
As the Miami International Boat Show settles into its sparkling new location this year, Sea Ray is making its own impressive showing. Fresh off the announcement that Sea Ray received five 2015 CSI Awards, boating’s most awarded brand is hosting a display spanning four product categories at the new Virginia Key venue (Space A-135), along with a second display for vessels 40′ and larger at Yachts Miami Beach (Collins Avenue, Ramp 39), a concurrent boat show. The brand-new 450 Sundancer makes its world premiere at the Collins location, alongside a fleet of beautiful L-Class and Sea Ray yacht models.
“Sea Ray has big things in store for Miami,” said Tim Schiek, president of the Sea Ray Boat Group. “Not only will it be the world’s first look at our newest model, the next-generation 450 Sundancer on Collins Avenue, but our Virginia Key site will provide one of the first opportunities to explore our sophisticated new 290 Sundeck Outboard, and to see four of our brand-new SLX models.”
The 450 Sundancer represents the latest in a rebirth of Sea Ray’s iconic Sundancer line. Its design approach is focused on the total boating experience, with a harmonious interplay of indoor and outdoor spaces. An open floorplan creates generous, connected social zones throughout the boat. This includes a spacious enclosed sunroom that seamlessly connects to the cockpit, and features an electrically opening skylight and gourmet-ready galley.
Below, living quarters include a full-beam master stateroom and an additional forward stateroom, each with its own beautifully appointed head. Rich materials and finishes further enhance the overall aesthetics and comfort, while an optional gourmet transom center adds a countertop with grill and sink, expanding social capabilities all the way aft. Superior sun coverage comes courtesy of an optional foredeck shade and cockpit SureShade®.
And that’s not Sea Ray’s only Miami showstopper; Sea Ray is also featuring the recently debuted SLX lineup. But this is no ordinary viewing: Visitors to the Sea Ray Virginia Key display are invited to take an immersive virtual reality tour through The SLX Experience. A high-end virtual reality headset puts the viewer aboard the vessel in high definition, before taking a spirited ride behind the vessel on a wakeboard. Welcome to the future of boat shows.
“We’re thrilled to introduce our groundbreaking SLX models and give boaters a taste of The SLX Experience, using exciting virtual reality technology,” said Schiek. “These are truly impressive boats — the result of carefully orchestrated excellence — with a host of cutting-edge features that work in harmony to go above and beyond expectations.”
Schiek continued: “The addition of our new 290 Sundeck Outboard, a marriage of Sea Ray craftsmanship, signature style and premium outboard power, is further evidence of our commitment to next-level boating. I can confidently say that Sea Ray’s showing in Miami will surprise and delight at every turn.”
